CATU believes that effective worker representation depends on strong and capable union leaders. Therefore, the organization invests significantly in capacity building and leadership development programs for union members, activists, and elected leaders. CATU provides training on labour law, collective bargaining, negotiation skills, dispute resolution, organizing strategies, advocacy, communication, gender equality, occupational safety and health, and business and human rights. The organization also offers mentoring and coaching to strengthen leadership skills. Special efforts are made to promote women’s leadership and increase the participation of women in decision-making positions within trade unions. Through continuous learning and development opportunities, CATU strengthens the capacity of workers and union leaders to effectively represent their members and advocate for improved working conditions and labour rights.
